Timothy P. Kowalski,
M.A.,CCC-SLP, ASDCS

Mr. Tim, as he is referred to by his clients, is a licensed speech-language pathologist and clinically certified Autism Spectrum Specialist. His practice specializes in social-pragmatic communication deficits. His Orlando practice has seen clients from Europe, South America and throughout the USA. He regularly consults to schools on best practices for students identified or suspected of having social-pragmatic communication deficits and provides school-wide district in-services. He is also a frequent guest lecturer at professional associations and universities.

Mr. Kowalski has worked in a variety of psychiatric healthcare delivery systems including in-patient and outpatient psychiatric hospitals, sex-offender units, and school-based settings. He obtained his Master’s degree in Speech Communications from Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland and earned his Bachelor’s degree in Communication Disorders from Southern Connecticut State College in New Haven. Mr. Kowalski is the author of eight books and an article Assessing Social Communication in Asperger Syndrome.

He is a member of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA), the Inter-American Teacher Network (IATN), Council of State Speech-Language-Hearing Association Presidents (CSAP), and the Florida Association of Speech-Language Pathologists and Audiologists (FLASHA) and received the 2020 Outstanding Service Award and the 2010 Clinician of the Year Award offered by the Florida Association of Speech-Language Pathologists and Audiologists and was Florida’s nominee for the 2011 American Speech-Language-Hearing Association’s Louis M. DiCarlo Award for Recent Clinical Achievement – one of only 8 nominees from throughout the USA. He is also the “TEAMS 2000 Speech-Language Pathologist of the Year” award for his work with Autism in the four-countywide greater Orlando, Florida metropolitan area. He is active in FLASHA where he previously served as President, Vice President for Convention and Vice President for Professional Practices. He also previously served on the Board of Directors for the Greater Orlando Chapter of the Autism Society of America and the Center for Independent Living in Central Florida.

He regularly presents on a wide variety of issues relative to social-pragmatic communication at state, national, and international seminars.
